为什么日语和戏剧
I love learning new languages because they seem interesting and I love to deal with a good challenge. Therefore, I chose 日本 as a major. 剧院, I chose because I love making up characters and bringing them to life for a show or just for fun. 日本 is hard but fun to learn. Not to mention it's a big influence on everyone these times. 剧院 is also fun, though it takes a lot of work and can be stressful. However, both programs will help me with my career 愿望.
Advice to Prospective Students
College can be stressful and seem like a lot to deal with, but at the end of the day you just have to be proud of what you've accomplished and have yet to accomplish. 话虽如此, 在找大学的时候, choose the one that offers the program(s) you are interested in and the one that offers their full support to achieve your goals. The college campus that helps you do what you want is the right fit for you! I would also add to stay focused and do not listen to people who doubt that you will succeed- Focus on your goals and your journey.
Experiential Learning Opportunities
I want to become an actor and comedian one day, and being a member of Mount Union Players through the theatre program is helping me step outside my comfort zone to become a more confident performer each time I step on stage. 我演过几部戏, but I met an actor back when I was in A Christmas Carol who gave me useful advice that I will always use in my career. Studying 日本 and learning about the culture has broaden my perspective-I can be a voice actor for comedy shows. Traveling to 日本 with friends allowed me to engage with the 日本 culture through sightseeing. Completing the study abroad portion of my major this summer (2024) in Akita, 日本 will allow me to meet new people and expand my friend group.
